Welcome to Veterans Memorial Park
Veterans Memorial Park is in the heart of the downtown commercial district in Stamford, Connecticut. In the past two decades, there have been several efforts to improve the park, but due to an aging infrastructure and new urban dynamics it remained underutilized and unappreciated.
In 2014 members of the Stamford community took the first steps to effect change and the renovation and revitaization process of the park began. In 2018, a public/private partnership was established between the City of Stamford and Stamford Veterans Park Partnership, Inc. and construction on the park started. In November 2019 the first of three phases of the park’s renovation was completed and celebrated on Veterans Day.
As the world emerges from a pandemic, construction continues in the park. The completion of the Gold Star Monument and the audio visual system is targeted for summer of 2022. This work will complete Phase II. Throughout 2021, Stamford Veterans Park Partnership continued to work in the park and with the community to honor our veterans.
