Located in the heart of downtown Stamford, Connecticut, Veterans Memorial Park has long been a landmark of the city. While previous revitalization efforts struggled against aging infrastructure and changing urban dynamics, a transformative vision took root in 2014. Through a dedicated public-private partnership between the City of Stamford and the Stamford Veterans Park Partnership, Inc., the park began its evolution from an underutilized space into a premier destination.

The project reached its first milestone on Veterans Day 2019, followed by the emotional 2022 unveiling of the Gold Star Monument. Today, the park serves as both a vibrant community hub and a gateway to the city’s military heritage and contributions to the founding of our country. Thanks to a grant from the Stamford URC, the park now features a comprehensive History Retrospective, including interactive monolith kiosk, storyboards, and tributes to Stamford’s Medal of Honor recipients.
